CEO Blog 71st Challenge and Management Policy of Kawashima Packaging Machinery

Beginning with 70 years of overcoming difficulties, the company announced its belief in 71 years of further challenge

On December 1, 2021, Kawashima began its 71st term.

In the previous fiscal year, there were many non-face-to-face sales situations due to the spread of new coronavirus infections, and there were also a variety of difficulties on sales plans, because of the impact of a global shortage of supplies of electronic components such as semiconductors.However, we have been able to overcome this situation, as we have been able to continue with projects based on the trust we have cultivated with our customers.
I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to our customers, cooperating companies, and the employees who worked with us this year that we have never experienced before.

Now, it seems that the problems and improvements of the company, and the possibility for the future, have come to be highlighted because of the situation that has not existed in the past.In the 71st fiscal year, we intend to achieve even greater growth at Kawashima by facing, thinking, and responding to each of these issues.

Good Signs of Creating Kawashima of the Future

Looking back at the previous fiscal year, we see not only difficulties but also good signs.

First and foremost, the people who will be the leaders of the next generation are actively involved in the various reform projects that we are working on in the company, which are progressing in parallel.It’s reliable, and I am having high expectations.
As a company, we will reform our organizational culture in order to create a more rewarding and rewarding workplace, as well as a personnel evaluation system to back up them and their employees.

It is the responsibility of the management to create an environment and a system in which all employees feel a sense of growth and are happy, both mentally and physically.This is a continuing challenge for me this fiscal year.

The desire to treasure more than anything else and our mission

Before talking about the management theme for the current fiscal year, the first thing we communicated to all employees was the mission and ideal form of Kawashima.

Our mission is to say that “”meeting customer’s request is our highest priority.””
Do what the customer wants, needs helps, and rejoices thoroughly so that we are told, “”Beyond Expectations””First of all, I conveyed my thoughts that I would like them to carve this into their heart.

Without a sense of mission, we will not be able to achieve our management goals.Even if we could achieve only the numerical targets, we cannot say that Kawashima is aiming to achieve them.All sources are coming from our mission.

Two pillars of management

From here, we will explain the two management themes we are tackling in the 71st fiscal year.

  1. Providing high-quality products
  2. Proposals for new sales styles in response to the changing times

    1. Providing high-quality products
    As a manufacturing company, we need to provide high-quality products to our customers.
    While enhancing our ability to propose solutions for the total packaging line, we will also strive to further improve our product appeal in order to create high-quality and attractive packaging machines.Specifically, we are developing and improving new models, and brushing up existing packaging machines.
    In addition to high-quality packaging machines, we will also refine our high-quality company and staffs.We will pursue the “”quality”” of the entire company and brand so that we can embody “”Kawashima”” through the response, behavior, and values of each and every employee.The definition of the quality of the “”Kawashima”” was discussed in the sixth time of the CEO blog, so please read it.

    2. Proposals for new sales styles in response to the changing times
    In the previous fiscal year, we faced a situation in which we were unable to see customers directly due to the Covid-19 crisis.
    I felt that the exhibitions I have participated in so far were not a matter of course, and that there was a need for a change in the sales and proposal styles.
    Accordingly, in the 71st fiscal year, we will further enhance brand dissemination.The keyword is “”solution proposal”” mentioned in ①.We propose our products to our customers by using catalogs, videos, animations, and other materials to clearly understand what problems problems customers can solve by the functions of our polished products, and we make the value clear and easy to understand.
    In addition to ordinary presentations, we would like to announce new exhibitions and proposals that can be felt as “”Kawajima as excellent company”” at the “”JAPAN PACK (Japan Packaging Industry Exhibition) 2022 in February 2022 and the “”FOOMA JAPAN (International Food Manufacturing Exhibition) 2022 in June 2022. I look forward to seeing everyone at the exhibition this fiscal year.

“”What does not change is left behind.””

It is always communicated to the Kawashima staffs, and the term for closing the morning assembly at the beginning of the 71st fiscal year is the message, “”What has not changed is left behind.””
Like the laws of nature, companies, organizations, and people always lose and eventually disappear without change.

Kawashima, which has a history of more than 100 years, has acted with courage and no fear of change among its seniors from all ages.
We will continue to take on challenges with courage by flexibly responding to the world’s trend, centering on the mission of “”meeting customers is our highest priority.””We are willing to change, and there is a flow of DNA that changes ourselves.
